Nicholls Gains Another GB Call Up

Max Nicholls, of Tonbridge Athletic Club,  has been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Mountain Running Championships, in September. This comes after his fifth placed finish in the trials race, at Kendal, earlier in the month.

The championships take place in Andorra on 16th September and Nicholls will be hoping to improve on his 56th placing from two years ago.

White Only Medal Winner At South Of England Championships

Lucinda White was the only competitor from Tonbridge Athletic Club, who came away from the South of England age group championships, with a medal, at the weekend.

White was second in the under 15 girls Pole Vault with 3.00 metres, clearing the same height as  the winner, Emily Oakden, of Lewes. The championship was effectively decided at the 2.80 metres height, which Oakden cleared first time, but where White required all three attempts.

Watt Wins Unusual 10 Kilometre Race

Dan Watt won the Borth Beach 10k, at Aberystwyth, in Wales on Sunday in 36.35, finishing 94 seconds clear of the runner-up. The race is unusual as it is run completely across the sandy beaches.

The Orbis Challenge

In October 2018 Dame Kelly Holmes and 20 teammates will take on the ultimate Malawi Challenge: running Mulanje Mountain, cycling across Zomba Plateau, and kayaking on Lake Malawi.
