TAC Athlete Tom Bosworth is Heading to Rio
With the formal announcement of Team GB on 13 July it's official - TAC Athlete Tom Bosworth is going to Rio!
Tom won the Olympic trial at the start of June in Leeds, cheered on by a strong Tonbridge contingent, including former coach Peter Selby as well as numerous family and friends.

10k 39:36 mins
20k 1 hour 20.41 mins outdoors, and the three times British Record holder.
If you are reading this, and you have tried race walking, you will understand what a great achievement this is. If you haven't then you should try it, or compare those times with what you might be able to run it in, then add in the fact that you need to have one foot on the ground at all times.
Tom trained at TAC when he was 11 and started race walking a year or so after that, he is now 26.
Coached by Pete Selby at the club in his teenage years, he then won a scholarship to study BSc (Hons) Sports Performance at Leeds Metropolitan University in 2009 where he started training full time at The National Race Walking Centre, coached by Andi Drake.
Tom is currently in Font Romeu, France, for final preparations at 2000m altitude.
It hasn't always been plain sailing for Tom, like everybody else there were times when races did not go to plan or when it was cold and wet and training seemed like very hard work.
Having narrowly missed out on the London Olympics, the Rio selection is a very well deserved pay back for all the hard work he has put into his training in recent years; his coaches family and friends knew he could do it and he has.
The 20k men's race walk is scheduled for 14.30 Rio time, which by our calculations will be 18.30 UK time on Friday August 12th and details of the coverage will be available nearer the time.
Just think, it might be you one day if you train hard and have that will to succeed. Race Walking at TAC
Good Luck Tom from your many friends and supporters at TAC, we will be cheering you on from the UK.
