Masters Update - 23rd February 2017

Alan Buckle Claimed an AG Record Park Run in South Africa

Click on the above for the link to Greenpoint - further detail on Alan's performance can be found here. (Sadly Tonbridge doesn't appear on the board (only on the results for the individual race)

Just out of interest, Wadhurst lifted the Steve Ovett trophy (yes really!) for the Sussex Road Race Grand Prix last week. Quite something for Wadhurst as the three Brighton Clubs and a few other bigger are in it. (Alan runs 2nd Claim for Wadhurst) I was 22nd man overall but John Lowden beat me quite easily in the 55-60 bracket - he's a class above me and thankfully is now 60.”

Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon

A number of TAC Masters were involved, several using this as a stepping stone to the London or Brighton marathons. Apologies but I don’t seem to be able to see the times on the results sheet that I downloaded.

Antonia Skerritt W35 154th overall. 1.33 “Smashed it!!! 1.33 bang on. New PB!!” You can see Antonia’s sprint finish in the facebook group at

Penney Pilbeam W45 1.43 Penny has quietly been getting back to fitness after her baby in November and is hoping to be able to run in the London Marathon in April. “Not too bad considering. Tried to pace myself and finished with some in the tank so am ok with that for now.”

Duncan Ralph was 448th.

Maria Heslop, first lady in 1.22.27. This following a prolonged cough etc

James Winnifrith appears to have run really well to be 80th.

Julian Rendall M35 A very impressive 6th Overall.

Pictured above are James Winnifrith and Antonia Skerritt.

As far as I can see Mark McAllister was the only TAC competitor at the SCVAC indoor champs, he came away with a bronze medal in the 60m.

“Won bronze in a very close 60m today 8.09, only 0.01 faster than last week but going in the right direction!”

3rd 34 Mark Mcallister Tonbridge AC 8.09 Bronze

National XC Champs

Good luck to all 19 TAC vets down to race at Nottingham this weekend. Various individual targets from individual TAC duels, finishing top half, getting on the TAC video, finishing and avoiding being lapped. Of course, the Crawley v Ralph is always keenly observed!

Bromley Vets AC 5 Mile XC Race Sunday 12th March

10.30am Sparrows Den. I don’t think that this is exclusively a Vets race but looking at last years results there was only one non vet racing. I plan to do this as a warm up to the Nationals. £12 affiliated in advance, £15 on the day.
